Why team? Sind denn PVT (hybride) sun collectors on the roof enough?
In solar thermal modules the heat energy not used in PV modules is fully exploited. The sun heats up the sun collector which warms up the solar fluid inside the module. This wamth is then used to support the heating. The most important point is, that this warmth is transfered to heating or for the warming of water most efficiently. Here the heat pump with integrated solar boiler comes into the game.
How Heat Pumps Work
Normal heat pumps use for instance the temperature of the air, to compress the air and thus inrease temperature. Presssure increases the temperature of the medium. However, that compression needs energy, which is electricity in most cases. That means, a little bit of energy is invested, to multiply the temperature of the medium. Quite an efficient principle. Where the Solar Boiler Name originates from.
Here comes the solar boiler into the game. It uses the warmth coming from the sun collectors to support the heat pump efficiently. In effect, the solar boiler strongly relieves the heat pump. The solar boiler uses the hot solar fluid from the PVT modules to heat up the water in the boiler using a heat exchanger. Consequently, the solar fluid cools down and is guided back to the PVT modules. The water inside the tank of the solar boiler is thereby heated up. In this case, where the solar boiler heats up water, the heat pump does not need to work, which saves electricity. And that is how solar makes sense.
Why a Heat Pump Solar Boiler is a necessary add-on to Hybrid Sun Collectors (PVT) ...
Now we know, warum zu den PVT (hybride) sun collectors always need a partner, which can make use of the sun collectors' heat.. A simple heat pump can also already make use of the solar heat, but only by using additional energy (electricity). If a heeat pump is equipped with a solar boiler, then it makes most sense. Both systems support each other symbiotically: Heat from the sun collectors is passed to the water in the solar boiler. By that the electricity usage of the heat pump is avoided respectively reduced, because the heat pump pauses at that time.
But that's not All!
The electricity for the heat pump comes from the PV part of the hybrid solar collector. By that the heat pump can, as and when her work is required, be supported by electricity. Since requirement of warmth and availability of sunlight and sun energy do not always fit together , the electricity can be stored either in a battery system or alternatively it can be buffered in the electricity grid. Important is, that so much or more electricity is bufferd, as it taken out again. By that the electricity balance is zero from an environmental point of view. Here the team is the winner: They support each other, the hybrid (PVT) sun collectors and the heat pump solar boiler.
